Ford was founded by Henry Ford in 1903, in Michigan. Ford’s history in Ireland began in 1917 with Henry Ford establishing Henry Ford & Son Ltd. in Cork, motivated by his family’s roots there. The plant initially built tractors but soon produced cars like the Model T, until it closed in 1984. Ford vehicles have dominated sales for decades in Ireland. The Ford Focus and Fiesta had high sales historically, and the Ford Puma is currently a top seller in Ireland.
