We're pleased to report that the value of scrap cars has levelled off in March, seeing the prices remaining stable compared to last month. Spring is off to a good start, with scrap car metal prices an impressive 66% higher than they were in March last year!
Whilst prices are stable, now is an ideal time to sell your scrap car, as prices might not remain static for long in the scrap metal market.
The CarTakeBack Scrap Car Price Index is updated monthly using the prices on offer for scrap cars at CarTakeBack recycling centres throughout Ireland. It is intended to give an indication of the movement in the price from one month to another, with the prices being shown as a percentage. Cars come in all shapes and sizes which has an effect on their scrap value, so prices have been adjusted to show what the average car would be worth.
