Nissan launches electric camper van

Camping holidays are becoming more popular, and so is caring for the environment. So, it was only a matter of time before a traditional style camper, with an electric engine, came on sale.

Nissan have answered the market demand with their e-NV200 Camper, which can be ordered and customised from any Nissan dealer… in Spain. Yes, that means sadly we won’t be able to pop to our local Nissan car dealer and order one just yet, but it does indicate that if it’s popular, there is high chance that they will be available in other countries soon.

Competing with the more traditional petrol and diesel camper vans on the market, the Nissan e-NV200 Camper has a 40 kWh battery pack, a pop-up roof, fitted kitchen and bed space, as well as a roll out awning for relaxing outside whilst being protected from the sun.

Volkswagen is also broadening their range of electric vehicles on offer, working on an electric ‘microbus’, currently in its concept stages. We are hoping that this means we are heading for an electric camper van revolution!
