What happens when I drop my car off?

You'll need to have a few things ready:

  1. your reference number or a copy of your quote (either on paper or your mobile) to guarantee your price;

  2. your identification and proof of address;

  3. your documents (such as your vehicle registration certificate, NCT certificate, service history and manuals) if you have them;

  4. your keys, if you have them;

  5. finally, don’t forget to remove any personal belongings and rubbish.

When you arrive at your local CarTakeBack recycling centre we'll:

  1. check your ID and proof of address;

  2. take care of the paperwork;

  3. finally, we’ll sort out your payment.

If you have more than three months of tax remaining on your car, you can get a refund from your local Motor Tax Office.
