Nissan have hit a big milestone with their fully electric city car, the Nissan LEAF. It's the first Electric Vehicle (EV) to surpass 400,000 sales!

The LEAF first went on sale in 2010, and was the first mass-market EV. Back then, LEAF owners were considered early adopters, with EVs still being a fairly niche mode of transport. But now, you are likely to see one on the roads when you are out and about around town.

LEAF owners have clocked up more than 10 billion kilometres in travel, that's the equivalent of driving around the world 248,00 times, and they have collectively saved more than 3.8 million barrels of oil a year since the launch in 2010. In 2018 the Leaf was the best-selling EV in Europe, but more impressively, it was the best-selling car of any kind in Norway!

Built in three factories; Japan, England, and Tennessee in the USA, the little electric car is sold in over 50 markets across the globe. We think it's safe to say that the Electric Vehicle Revolution is upon us.

Congratulations Nissan!
